The handicap of a pair is the difference between the sums of the individual handicaps of the players in each pair and this figure will be entered for the first end plus any shots scored that end.

In exceptional circumstances and with the prior approval of the Competitions Sub-Committee, a pair may be allowed one substitute in rounds other than the semi-final and final.   The substitute must not have played or be scheduled to play in another team in the current pairs handicap competition.
