County Singles
Men
In this contest we started with 19 of the 32 entrants in our area, and three of the last four - John McGuinness, Tim Jones and Neil Farnish - but only one, Neil Farnish, made it to the County quarter finals, where he lost 21-18.
Ladies
Six of the thirteen entrants in our area of the county came from Gerrards Cross. By the third round it was just Julie Skelly and Charlene Turpie playing each other to see who played in the county quarter-finals. Charlene won 21-16,
In the quarter finals Charlene beat Leslie Throup of Waddesdon by just one point, and then in the semis beat Vicky Room, also of Waddesdon, rather more easily.
And in the County finals she lost in a very close game against Rachel Efde of Iver Heath.
Two contestants from Bucks go on to compete in the Nationals at Leamington, and Charlene won the first round there easily, but unfortunately lost 17-21 to a lady from Cornwall in the second round.
