food was great

was raucous even by our standards

singer was Nikki, who's voice was (also) lovely

dancing was, er, fun

as a cocktail evening 
She
said she'd sound better after we'd had a few drinks
Alan did his heads & tails thing
but
we seemed to get through a lot of wine
but
we all joined in instead of listening
and a good time was had by all
