We won the singles contests in short order and were well ahead in the
fours until Hendon achieved a late rally. At that point we were behind
in the pairs and triples so for a short while it got tense. But Alan's
team got a four to clinch their game and Hendon conceded.

Tom won the two-wood singles in short order, John took rather longer
to win the four woods, as he does. We had an unassailable lead in the
pairs, so Reading conceded (we were winning the triples and drawing
the fours).

Quarter Finals:
We played Poole from Dorset and getting off to a quick start from Dave
Simpson in the two woods, the GX men played with style and passion
also moved into the semi-finals with a strong win.
Semi Finals:
The semi-final saw them us against a Huntingdonshire side that
included World indoor champion Nick Brett and saw one of the closest
games witnessed at Leamington. With the scores locked at 2-2 all eyes
were on the triples game where just one point separated the two sides
on the final end. Responding to the large crowd, the triple of Kev
Dwyer, George Reid and Drew Briden coped well under pressure picking
up the winning shots that saw the GX side win the final end to
progress through to the final.
Final:
The final was against Kings from Devon, a side that contains 3 England
internationals. It was always going to be a tough match and so it
proved. Despite strong performances from all rinks, the Devon side
were just that little stronger and retained the title with Gerrards
Cross being the national Top Club runners up.

four woods and with the pairs of David Ross and Kirk Smith adding the
third point, Bishops Cleve conceded the game. Triples were winning,
