Round up of 2016
We got to the semi-final, but weakened by the late withdrawal of Mary Smith with a back problem and the loss of experienced players to the Bucks Cup final we went oh so close to getting through to the final. We needed two shots on Ray Merry's last end to force a play-off. We held two but Ray pushed one of Rosedale Park's woods in for shot and their skip drew his next in for two leaving Ray with the last wood. He came into the head and moved the two woods leaving us with shot and a very close measure for two. The umpire was called and having first indicated that we had second, he corrected himself and pushed out the Rosedale bowl to leave us frustrated. We beat Fassnidge in the 3rd/4th place play-off to finish 3rd. A great effort especially from those who were called in at the last minute.
